Your first three minutes

  1. Open the tracker. Double-click 1-OPEN-ME-Life-RPG-Lite.html. It works straight away. No account, no signup, nothing to install.
  2. Name yourself. Click EDIT next to CHARACTER. Put your own name in and pick a class. The class changes your avatar and nothing else.
  3. Cut the list down. Five quests come ready. Delete the ones that are not yours. Keep one.
  4. Do that one thing, then press the +. XP lands, the day gets marked, and your streak starts at one.

The three rewards

You pick the reward when you create a quest, and you can change it later with Edit. Honest sizing beats generous sizing: the numbers are only useful if they mean something.

The four attributes

Vitality
Body, rest, food, movement.
Knowledge
Reading, study, anything you are learning.
Creativity
Making things, in any medium.
Focus
Deep work, admin you keep avoiding.

How the numbers move

Each quest pays once a day.
Checking it twice on the same day does nothing. Tomorrow it is worth full XP again.
Levels get a little steeper as you go.
The first costs 100 XP, and each after it costs 25 more. Level 2 comes on day one, level 50 in about two years. Attributes stay flat: every 100 XP inside one is a point.
Any one quest marks the day.
The streak counts marked days back from today. A 15 XP quest holds it exactly as well as a 50 XP one.
Unchecking is free.
Press the button again and the XP comes back out. Correcting a mistake costs nothing.
The list resets, the history does not.
Quests are there every day. The year grid, your levels, your best streak and your total XP keep everything you have done.
Achievements are ladders, not badges.
Five tracks, each with rungs far enough out that there is always a next one. Nothing earned is ever taken back.

Keep your progress

Your data lives in this browser only. Clearing site data or storage erases it. Clearing only history normally does not. Click EXPORT BACKUP now and then, and keep the file somewhere you trust. IMPORT brings it back, on this device or another one.

Nothing is ever sent anywhere. There is no server and no account, which is why the backup file is the only way your progress travels.
